Cloud services come in a variety of forms and implementations. One company might try to migrate all Services and Applications to the Cloud. Another company might only use the Cloud for specific applications such as Email or to supplement their data backups.
Some clouds are private and very secure. Some clouds are shared with other tenants and not very secure. It is up to you to secure your own applications and services on some “cloud” implementations.
